Common questions
My child knocked out a permanent tooth. What do I do right now?
Pick it up by the crown, never the root, rinse it gently with milk or saline if it's dirty, and try to place it back into the socket. If you can't, keep it in a cup of milk and call us immediately. The first hour matters enormously.
What if it's a baby tooth that was knocked out?
Do not try to put a baby tooth back in, as that can damage the adult tooth developing above it. Control the bleeding with clean gauze and call us so we can check the area.
Is a swollen face an emergency?
Yes. Facial swelling, fever or a bump on the gum can signal an infection that needs treating promptly. Call us straight away rather than waiting to see if it settles.
