Baby & Toddler First Visits in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
The first dental visit should happen by your child's first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. At that age the visit is mostly a gentle look, a quick polish, and a conversation with you about bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers and brushing tiny teeth. It is short by design.
- Recommended by age one, or six months after the first tooth
- Quick, low-pressure look with you right beside the chair
- Guidance on bottles, night feeds, pacifiers and thumb-sucking
- Fluoride varnish when it's appropriate for their age
- Kid-height play table and toys in the waiting room

Common questions
Isn't one year old too early?
It's exactly right. Early visits catch problems while they're tiny, and just as importantly they make the dental office a familiar, boring place long before your child ever needs treatment.
Can I hold my toddler during the visit?
Yes. For our youngest patients we often use a knee-to-knee position with the parent, so your child is looking at your face the whole time. You're welcome to stay with your child throughout.
What if my toddler cries the whole time?
Then they cry, and we still get it done. Crying is how a two-year-old says they're unsure, not that something hurts. Our team does this every day and works quickly and calmly through it.
